How do rules work?
Rules automatically assign categories to new transactions that match the specified conditions.
Once a rule is configured, transactions are categorized automatically without any additional manual work.
How do I create a rule?
Go to Categories → Rules section → click Add rule.
Select the condition type.
Specify the value (counterparty, wallet, or text).
Select the category to assign.
Review the preview to see how many existing transactions match the rule, then save the rule.
What types of rules are available?
Type | Condition | Example |
By counterparty | All transactions from a specific counterparty | Transactions from "Hosting Ltd" → category "Infrastructure" |
By wallet | All transactions from a specific wallet | Transactions from "Payroll" wallet → category "Salaries" |
By comment | Transaction comment contains specific text | Comment contains "refund" → category "Refunds" |
The rule was applied only to new transactions. What about existing ones?
Click Apply All Rules in the Rules section to apply all existing rules to previously created transactions.
What are Suggestions?
The system analyzes your manual categorization patterns and suggests rules based on your activity.
For example:
You always assign Category Y to transactions from Counterparty X. Would you like to create a rule?
You can accept a suggestion with a single click. Once accepted, it becomes a regular rule and will automatically apply to future transactions.
How do I delete a rule?
Click the Delete icon next to the rule.
Deleting a rule does not remove categories that have already been assigned to transactions. The rule simply stops being applied to future transactions.
Managing Categories
How do I create a category?
Go to Categories and click Create Category, New Income Category, or New Expense Category.
Categories can be organized into a hierarchy. To create a subcategory, select the parent category and click Add Subcategory.
What's the difference between Income and Expense categories?
The difference is based on the direction of the cash flow:
Income categories are used for incoming transactions.
Expense categories are used for outgoing transactions and can also be used when configuring budgets.
What happens when I archive a category?
Archived categories can no longer be assigned to new transactions, but they remain visible on transactions that were previously categorized, preserving your transaction history.
You can restore an archived category at any time by clicking Restore.
If you archive a category that contains subcategories, the entire category hierarchy is archived.
