What are units?

What are units?

Units are your company's internal structure on top of wallets: legal entities, departments, projects. Assign wallets to units and you'll be able to view the P&L report broken down by unit, filter wallets by unit, and see which unit each wallet belongs to right in the table.

Where do I find units?

The **Units** section in the left-hand menu, between Wallets and Invoices. Inside you'll find the list of units with search, a type filter, and a Show archived toggle.

How do I create a unit?

Units → the create button. Enter a name, pick a type, and optionally add a description and a color (12 options). The unit's color and name will be visible in the wallets table and in reports.

What unit types are there?

The type dictionary is your own. On first open it is seeded with three predefined types in your interface language: Legal Entity, Department, Project. Manage them via the gear icon next to the Type field in the unit create/edit window: you can add your own types, rename them, and delete them.

Why can't I delete a unit type?

A type that is used by at least one unit cannot be deleted — you'll see the message "Type is used by N units". Move those units to a different type first.

How do I assign a wallet to a unit?

There are four ways:

1. Click a unit in the list to open its details — use the **Add wallets** button; you can select several wallets at once.

2. On the Wallets page, click edit on a wallet — assign, change, or remove the unit.

3. On the Wallets page, click the wallet you're interested in to open its details — in the Units block you can assign, change, or remove the unit.

4. In bulk from the Wallets page — if there are wallets without a unit, a banner "N wallets are not assigned to a unit" with an **Assign unit** button appears at the top.

How many units can one wallet have?

One. If you add a wallet to another unit, it is automatically detached from the previous one — no duplicates.

Can I assign an archived wallet to a unit?

No, units can only be assigned to active wallets. During bulk assignment, archived wallets in the selection are skipped.

What happens when a unit is archived?

The unit disappears from the lists (you can still see it via the Show archived toggle), and all of its wallets are automatically detached. Note: after the unit is restored, its wallets do **not** come back — you need to assign them again.

How do I view P&L by unit?

Reports → P&L Report → the **By unit** switch. You'll see the "Breakdown by unit" table: Revenue, Expenses, Net, and % of Total for each unit, plus an **Unallocated** row — activity on wallets without a unit.

What goes into the Unallocated row?

All activity on wallets that are not assigned to any unit, including payments made through the platform's service mechanisms.

Who can do what with units?

Permissions are configured on the user page, in the **Business units** group: View / Create / Edit / Archive. By default a team member can do everything **except archiving** — that is available to the owner. Without the View permission, the Units section and the By unit switch in the report are hidden entirely; the Create, Edit, and Archive permissions only work together with View.

Does a team member see all of a unit's wallets?

No. In the unit details, each person sees only the wallets available to them: their own, public ones, and those they've been granted access to.
